I am a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Criminal Justice, University at Albany (SUNY), advised by Shawn Bushway. My dissertation examines incarceration as a setting for change in social ties and offending. Through a partnership with New York State, I am examining prison visitors. In collaboration with Prison Project Netherlands researchers, I am studying social support and patterns of offending across a period of detention.
My research interests span institutional and community corrections, as well as criminal justice policy more broadly, with a focus on improving outcomes, such as recidivism. Previously I conducted program and policy analysis for justice stakeholders at the Utah Criminal Justice Center, University of Utah.
